When your feeding 10 hungry humans on a tight budget, one of Mom’s “go to” dishes, especially during lent, was “Shells”. It’s a hardy comfort food that’s quick and easy.
Ingredients
- 1lb shell macaroni (any brand)
- 2 (8oz) cans Campbells condensed Tomato Soup
- 8 oz milk
- 1lb grated American cheese
- ½ stick butter Panko crumbs (optional)
Instructions
Boil shells until cooked. Drain water, add all ingredients and continue cooking over low flame until creamy and all cheese is melted. If using panko bread crumbs, spoon dish into a casserole dish and top with bread crumbs. Broil 5-8 minutes to toast bread crumbs.
